1914 Cleveland Electrical Exposition
The early 1900’s ushered in engineering advancements that propelled the nation into an era of exciting possibilities. Cleveland was no exception as they embraced scientific discoveries by sponsoring the Cleveland Electrical Exposition in 1914. While the event caused quite a stir amidst skeptics, it highlighted the versatility of this modern miracle. The switch to illuminate East 13th Street on May 20, 1914 at the Exposition was thrown by none other than Thomas Edison.
